We spent two nights at the Seven Gables Inn. We stayed in the Arbor Room. The location is great and the ocean view from our room was amazing. The room itself had a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was tiny and it was difficult to maneuver. The breakfast was good. While we would not stay here again, we had a great time visiting Monterrey!

Appalling treatment at this inn. When I arrived in the early evening, I was told there was only one member of staff on the property and they would shortly be leaving. They said there was no one to help with luggage (this is the most inaccessible hotel with steps everywhere and no lift). I was told there are no staff on site from about 8pm to 8am. This seems like a security risk if nothing else. I have never been to a hotel or motel anywhere where you can't get help with your luggage, especially not one costing nearly $1000 a night on a holiday weekend. As it happens, I am currently physically unable to carry heavy things and I would never have stayed here if I had known. No one answered when I rang the hotel contact number in the evening (the only means of contacting anyone from the hotel, because all the staff had left...). When I eventually got hold of someone, I had barely started speaking when the woman who answered cut me off, berated me, shouting, blaming me for being unable to carry heavy things and basically said "tough, we don't care what happens to you". She scolded me for calling the number because it wasn't an "emergency" when the hotel check-in info sheet clearly said you can call for other reasons. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Oh and the room was rundown and smelled of mold - with a horrible bathroom. I don't know why you would stay here unless you love wasting money and being humiliated.

A beautiful hotel with a breathtaking view of the sea. The rooms are charmingly furnished, as is the entire building. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely beautiful 😍 We stayed in the Ocean Mist room. Very beautiful room but the entire property was gorgeous. Welcome champagne at check in, nightly wine happy hour in the lobby followed by a nightly cookie hour. The breakfast was also tasty. The service was great. Our room was also very clean - I need a clean room and the room was well kept. We had plenty of towels and storage space. The shower also had good pressure (it's an old property so you never know). The windows had plenty of covers for times of privacy but when open the view was breathtaking. No AC but cracking a window at night let in a lovely cross breeze through the room. We would definitely come back again!
