Boxers is a gay sports bar on 9th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen. Games play on the TVs, there's a standard bar-food menu, and the bartenders work shirtless, which is the brand's calling card. The crowd is mostly gay men, and the atmosphere is more casual than the clubs nearby. (The old listing mixed up its addresses: 742 9th Ave is Hell's Kitchen; the brand's Chelsea/Flatiron bar was on West 20th Street.) It opens at 16:00 on weekdays and 13:00 on weekends, staying open until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. Big game days and weekend afternoons are the busiest times. Good for a drink before going on to the 9th Avenue bars.

Haven’t had the food yet but it’s been my 3rd time here, it’s a chill place before 10pm to play pool 🎱. It’s a gay sports bar, supposedly the pool table moves and it becomes a dance floor. I typically hang around Hell’s Kitchen so this location is nice to rendezvous with friends coming from Brooklyn.

Boxers is the best gay bar in town! My favorite of all! All the bartenders are very friendly and very attentive. I go every week! My favorite days are Thursday and Friday.
