About This Event

NYC Pride isn't just big; it's the biggest. An annual week of LGBTQ+ events, it ends with the Pride March, which snakes down Fifth Avenue and finishes where Christopher Street hits Greenwich Avenue, right by the Stonewall Inn. Two million people show up for the march. That makes it the largest Pride event anywhere, and one of New York City's biggest annual gatherings, period.

The 2026 Heritage of Pride schedule runs from roughly June 20-28. The main march is on the last Sunday, June 28, 2026. It starts at 26th Street and Fifth Avenue, heads south, then west through Greenwich Village, and wraps up on Christopher Street. That's directly in front of the Stonewall Inn, the place where the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement kicked off in 1969. Finishing at Stonewall isn't an accident; no other Pride march in the world ends exactly where it started.

The week before the march brings the Rally and Concert at Pier 97. There's the Dyke March, which happens the Saturday before the main march, going from Bryant Park to Stonewall. Friday is Trans Day of Action. You'll find the Spirit of Stonewall Rally, and more than 200 community events spread across all five boroughs. On Sunday, the PrideFest street fair runs along Hudson Street, right next to the march route.

Because NYC Pride is so huge, you need to plan ahead. Hotels for Pride weekend sell out six months out. Sidewalks along Fifth Avenue are packed by 10 AM on march day. The West Village becomes impossible to move through after the march. Book your hotel in Midtown or Chelsea. Get to your viewing spot by 9 AM. Expect the whole day to be taken up by the experience.

Pride weekend 2025 was even bigger because it hosted World Pride. That's the international Pride event that moves to different cities each year, pulling in people from over 100 countries. New York's 2025 World Pride marked 56 years since Stonewall. An estimated 5 million people came to the city for Pride week.
