Great Outdoors Palm Springs

While this is an absolutely beautiful location, the atmosphere and in-fighting amongst owners is unbelievable. If you are renting a lot for your RV or you are renting a lot with an RV already on it, you have to pay a $22 resort fee, however, you cannot get a tee time. The pools, hot tubs and pool decks other than the main locations are not worth the old and drab and in dire need of upgrades. If you don't play pickleball, you might not as well go as there is nothing else worth the $22 per day. The rent is also very high, owners trying to get rich off others. This is a Home Association and all lots are individually owned. Won't go back :(

We spent a winter in this resort with plans of purchasing .The park itself was everything we were looking for ,clean beautiful surroundings with beautiful pools which our family was highly interested in .Then the downfalls , definitely not pet friendly , nowhere for your dog to have a good run and if your not close to the pen you need to drive for them to do their duty because they won’t make it if you are at the other side of the park ! The pools are another story ,while they are beautiful , some of the owners which they made themselves known , are not too fond of having children around in the pool as they splash too much and it messes up their hair . Ahh really ! Then why are you in the larger pool !Also one of these same owners was quite interested to know what kind of unit we were planning on purchasing to make sure it was suitable for their tastes ! Hmmmm! Strike three no make that strike four another snob ! Resort fees ! $13.00 per day on top of your rental fees , this includes golf of course but and there is a but try and get a decent or even a tee time when you want one ! Not if you aren’t one of the in crowd I’m afraid . I could go on but it won’t make a difference ,so after some contemplating we have decided to purchase a house with a pool instead , a much better investment than lining someone else’s pocket and being treated like outsiders ! When you look at the hoa’s, & taxes you would pay on the resort it almost covered our taxes on the house, It’s a win win !

My mom and I came and stayed for just 10 days but we loved it! We enjoyed all the fresh fruit and the pools. All the people we met were very friendly. I think the only negative for me was there wasn’t parkwide it even just at the satellite pools Wi-Fi. We had to keep walking to the clubhouse to use the wifi. Minor thing though we enjoyed our stay thoroughly

My wife and I came here about 35 times to visit my parents. Dad, Bill Gwinn, was the resort volunteer chaplain for 14 years (1992-2006). He was succeeded in that position by my cousin Jim Gwinn for the next 14 years. The Sunday morning chapel is very popular, usually over 300 in attendance, many guest speakers/singers. Always loved playing golf with Dad and with my brother. Highly recommend this place whether to visit or to own a lot and stay the season! You'll love it. -Doug

This is a very well maintained and operated resort. A variety of RV sites and RV units. The amenities are very nice and well maintained. Lots of activities along with the golf course, pickel ball, etc.

Very beautiful RV park. Well maintained grounds, pools, laundry, common areas. Very friendly folks here. Lots are spacious and well maintained. I wouldn't recommend to just show up and book but to reserve ahead of time for a spot. It is very close to shopping and downtown Palm Springs and Cathedral City. Many here are older owners but there are younger families here as well. Activities tend to cater to older group as well but there is plenty to do around for families too. They have things like movie night, a sewing room, choir, pickle ball, tennis, golf, dance, exercise, game nights, concerts, fundraisers, etc. There is a restaurant, cafe, hair nail saloon. This is a 'gated' park with security 24/7 which is nice.

I read many of the reviews and some made me smile and others made me sad. --Yes, sadly it is an ongoing struggle with pickleball and the board to bring in the official ball. Actually, the stress ball should be called a "resort ball". --Yes, it's a struggle to get a tee time. This year, ORPS hired a golf pro to fix this problem. The "good old boys" getting the best times have been dealt with. --The expensive resort fees. It is costly to provide a top notch resort with manicured lawns and with California raising the minimum hourly rate to $15.00/hour, we all roll our eyes and pay the price. --Dog park. That has been revamped and areas added. --Some remarked that us owners are snobbish and do not treat visitors kindly. That is simply not true. With any 1200 site resort, there are cliques and unhappy people who want to exclude. BUT, there are more of us, who want to know you and invite you to join in. As an owner, it took me about two seasons to really get to know people and make a wide circle of friends. Best way to make friends is to pick a couple and invite them to your site. They most likely be happy to join you! --It is a great resort and like any other large resort

This is the first time we have stayed at this RV resort in the Palm Springs area. We thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to be able to get a spot again next fall. It is located on a 27 hole executive golf course, LOTS of tennis and pickle ball courts, 8 swimming pools, etc. Lots of organized activities and all the people we met (many permanents) were very nice. All buildings re laundry, etc were exceptionally well looked after. Property itself was well looked after and very clean!

Wonderful place. Golf, Tennis, Pickleball, Fitness centre,Dances, Socials, Bar, Pools, Everything you would want. Most of the lots are privately owned but there are some rentals. Over 1,200 sites. Close to Palm Springs airport and shopping. In house hiking and cycling groups, golf tournaments, fun events, excellent musical entertainment on week ends, Bridge club, May Jong Etc Etc Etc .
