About this place Loews Philadelphia Hotel

The Loews Philadelphia Hotel occupies the PSFS Building, completed in 1932 as the headquarters of the Philadelphia Saving Fund Society — a landmark of American modernist architecture and one of the first International Style skyscrapers in the United States. The building's conversion to hotel use preserved the extraordinary lobby and the dramatic exterior; the guest rooms are on the upper floors with city views that take in the full sweep of Center City. The Loews chain has a strong record of LGBTQ+-inclusive hospitality, and the Philadelphia property is no exception — the hotel is consistently listed among Philadelphia's most welcoming options for gay and lesbian travellers. The Market Street location puts it at the centre of the city's transit network: the Market-Frankford Line stops directly outside, providing easy access to the Gayborhood (one stop to 12th-13th Street) and to the broader city. The hotel's proximity to the Convention Center makes it a frequent choice during events that bring large numbers of gay visitors to Philadelphia — the Trans Wellness Conference, OutFest, and other major LGBTQ+ gatherings. The combination of architectural distinction, central location, and confirmed LGBTQ+ welcome makes it one of the city's top hotel choices.

Unfortunately, they don't cover tax + tip charges for Amex hotel credit. Seems pretty cheap though they noted it in their welcome letter (which I didn't read). Stay was mostly good, though for a 4-star hotel the rooms could feel slightly dated and they are missing some features (light dimmers, proper blackout curtains, charging cables, and so on.)..

This is a class A hotel. Very clean and comfortable. The service is amazing. The location is right in middle of everything.

I had an unfortunate instance of misplaced property following my stay in the Loews Hotel. My friend had one of the bridal suites reserved before her wedding. As is usually the case during wedding days, the schedule was hectic and rushed. I left the suite but accidentally left my clothes in the room that I changed out of before changing into my dress. I realized this later that night when we returned to the hotel following the reception. I asked the front desk if they had found my clothing items left behind in the room. They checked with security and reported that they had not found the items. This unfortunately was clothing worth $196. I asked the rest of the bridal party multiple times inquiring if they had accidentally grabbed the clothes. No one had. I understand that they were left behind following the checkout time of 3pm, but I returned at 9pm that night inquiring about them. The front desk reported that they were not in the lost and found nor in the room. I was very disappointed that my clothing was misplaced the same day that I checked out of the property. I was told that this hotel has a lost and found process, but it’s clearly not robust enough to keep track of items that are left behind, especially valuable ones. Please be careful if this situation happens to you - make sure your belongings are accounted for when you leave the hotel because you may not be able to get them back.
