⚠️ Heads up for EV drivers: the chargers here bill you three ways at once — per kWh, per hour while charging, AND per minute after your car finishes. Overnight, that idle fee adds up fast while you sleep. For context: DC fast chargers nearby charge $0.40/kWh with no extra fees and take 10-15 minutes. These Level 2 chargers charge $0.38/kWh plus a $1/hr duration fee, $0.10 per minute in idle fees, and can end up costing more in total. Do the math before you plug in. Fast charging up the street is genuinely the better deal.

The hotel is currently going through renovation. The air conditioner in my room was so loud, whenever it turned on it woke me up .

I was a little hesitant to book The Clara after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance. When I arrived, the renovations on the outdoor patio and pool area were just wrapping up. The patio space is absolutely beautiful and much larger than I expected. I especially appreciated the variety of seating options available, from loungers to comfortable outdoor furniture and plenty of tables and chairs, making it easy to find a spot to relax. The gym was another highlight of my stay, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a sauna, which I hadn't seen advertised anywhere. That ended up being an unexpected bonus and something I really enjoyed. A couple of things worth noting (though not negatives for me): the bathroom door is a sliding barn-door style door. In my room, the track occasionally caught, preventing the door from fully closing. Since I was traveling solo, it wasn't an issue, but I did mention it to the front desk upon checkout. Also, the bathroom wall does not extend all the way to the ceiling, leaving roughly a 2–3 foot gap at the top. Again, as a solo traveler, this didn't impact my stay, but if I had been sharing the room with friends, the lack of complete bathroom privacy would have been something to consider. Overall, I had a great experience and would absolutely stay at The Clara again. The staff were wonderful, my room was exceptionally clean, and the air conditioning worked like a dream, which is always appreciated during a Texas summer. I'm very happy I didn't let the mixed reviews deter me from booking.

This place was DISGUSTING. No amenities were available and someone supposedly working on the pool even though no one was ever there. I walk into my hotel room and there’s beard shavings on my bedding and pillow. The sheet looked like it had mold on the inside, the room looked nothing like the pictures online and the staff were no help. As much as we paid, breakfast wasn’t complementary at the least and the tv kept shutting off randomly. The only good part about our stay was the A/C.
