Kimpton Sawyer Hotel

It’s nice to be able to safely pull into the entrance of the hotel from the street. It is located against the mall (DOCO it is now called) and Golden 1 center via a back glass exit near the front desk. Haagen Dazs ice cream store to the left and mall to the right. A unique lounge chair and ottoman near the elevators. Floors 1 to 4 don’t require key card access to have elevators function. Floors upwards of 5 do; some security. The Citizen did the same for floors 13 and 14, I believe. Hallways were long and had unique see-through full-size glass at the ends of them for the outside world. The rooms themselves...night stand seemed outdated. Carpeting had many visible stains. I saw two different rooms and carpeting was the same...seemed high traffic with little cleaning. It was spacious and had an outside sitting area with bushes that gave the illusion of a little privacy whilst neighbor’s patios were visible if you cared to look. The bathroom door has no lock and is barn style. The shower was unique; the water can disperse from two directions and can be adjusted on either side. It has two modes. This is the only part I like. The room was 400 square feet with light dimmers throughout. I haven’t been able to hear anyone else and I know people are next door. I like the illuminated mirror. Service was unprofessional; housekeeping continually on cell phone and complained when I asked for toothpaste. Front desk didn’t smile and seemed unhappy. Valet parking was all smiles each time. Jillian was nice but the rest of the staff could be more service oriented. Night auditor that answered my initial call was professional and funny. I expected greatness because of him, but was met with mediocrity by a different staff. Oh, I loved the mini bar filled with pricey snacks. Was too expensive but convenient. Does not have a freezer...but fridge is sufficient for my needs.

Came to Revival for Happy Hour after a conference and the service was exceptional! Great staff and the oysters and Martinis were deslish!

I've only been there for ride share purposes and what i can say is the that the parking staff and front desk staff are the BEST. I'm going to find a reason to go and stay for a weekend because I'm certain it will be a lovely experience..

Went here for a weekend getaway and had high hopes. The good parts: the location is fantastic, the pool is phenomenal, the beds are comfy, and the food was yummy. Disappointing parts: takes forever to get through to the front desk, long wait times to hear from anyone, we had an issue with a reading light attached to the bed that wouldn’t turn off and it was midnight so we couldn’t sleep. They said they would send an engineer who took 30 mins to arrive, then he said he would be back in “one minute” and didn’t come back for 15 mins. So that was a bummer basically not being able to sleep for 45 mins due to delays. I’ve had some billing issues and it’s taking forever to get through to the front desk. Overall, the hotel is great but they really should do better with the service.

Our room was spotless, but my positive feelings basically begin and end there. The Kimpton experience is ruined in Sacramento by an overwhelming feeling of tackiness - lots of junk fees, knickel-and-diming in the room for nominal items that could otherwise present a gracious touch, an insulting delivery fee for in-room breakfast (the only option at the hotel), and expensive garage parking to secure your vehicle on an otherwise busy / loud / seedy street. All of that for over $500 / night, so I very much suggest looking elsewhere in town for your Sacramento stay.

I am writing to formally document the deeply disappointing experience my mother and I had at the Kimpton Sawyer during the Mother’s Day Brunch & Swim event on May 10. Our stay was characterized by poor service, inconsistent policy enforcement, and treatment that we believe was discriminatory. The issues began at the brunch podium, where staff were reluctant to assist us and dismissive of our seating needs. This continued at the pool, where the manager, Caroline, aggressively enforced a "no outside drinks" policy against my personal water bottle while ignoring other guests with outside beverages and those smoking nearby. Furthermore, our drink order was handled poorly; we waited an extensive time for only half the order, and a serving error involving allergens caused my mother to become ill. When we raised these concerns, the response from Caroline and the hotel manager, Stormy, was defensive and dismissive. The situation escalated unnecessarily when a security guard threatened to call the authorities after claiming Caroline felt "uncomfortable," despite our non-threatening behavior. We felt it necessary to call the police ourselves, who, upon arrival, agreed we had been mistreated. While the General Manager eventually offered to refund our stay, parking, and food the following morning, this was only offered after we explicitly raised the issue of racial discrimination. It was disheartening to see another guest of color express similar feelings of exclusion. Unfortunately we are still waiting for a refund and/or correspondence. I am sharing this to ensure these systemic service and conduct failures are addressed. I look forward to your further correspondence regarding this matter.
