San Francisco Pride 2026
About This Event
San Francisco Pride, every June, is one of the world's biggest LGBTQ+ events. This is the city where the modern gay rights movement really took hold. The 56th Annual SF Pride Parade and Celebration runs June 27-28, 2026. It brings over a million people to Civic Center Plaza and along the parade route down Market Street.
Sunday, June 28, is parade day. Hundreds of floats and groups march down Market Street, from Beale Street to Civic Center. A million people watch. The festival at Civic Center Plaza runs both days. You'll find multiple stages there, plus vendors and community organizations. Big-name performers and politicians show up regularly. The event still feels political, which makes sense in a city that's always been open about its queer politics.
San Francisco Pride's strength comes from its past. Harvey Milk marched here. The Names Project AIDS quilt was shown here. Every generation of the American LGBTQ+ movement has celebrated and grieved on Market Street. That history gives SF Pride an emotional weight newer events just don't have.
