What reviewers say

Visitors often praise the friendly and helpful staff, with some finding it to be a favorite community store with a wide variety of products. However, common complaints include a "no bag policy" that some find nonsensical, a "weird vibe" with overcrowding and people camping out, and an overall feeling of being overpriced and run down. Some also report rude staff and issues with the facilities like video booths malfunctioning.

About this place Folsom Gulch

Folsom Gulch is a gay sauna located in San Francisco's historic SOMA neighborhood, an area long known as a hub for LGBTQ+ nightlife and culture. The venue sits on Folsom Street, one of the city's most iconic thoroughfares for gay-oriented businesses and entertainment. Gay saunas are a traditional gathering space within LGBTQ+ communities, offering a relaxed, clothing-optional environment where visitors can socialize, unwind, and connect with other guests. These venues typically feature steam rooms, hot tubs, private rooms, and common areas designed to facilitate social interaction. The atmosphere tends to be casual and welcoming, catering primarily to men seeking a discreet, judgment-free space. San Francisco has a rich history with gay saunas and bathhouses as important social institutions. If you're visiting the city and interested in experiencing this aspect of LGBTQ+ culture, venues like this one provide an authentic local experience. For practical details about hours, facilities, membership options, and any current policies, we recommend visiting the venue's website or contacting them directly. As with any intimate venue, it's always good to familiarize yourself with house rules and expectations before your first visit.

Nice staff but DUMB policies. The no bag policy makes zero sense. If you are forcing people to give up their bags, no matter how small they are, there should be a place to check your bags. I would even be OK with them charging a storage fee. Is it security? They don't check my pockets so I could bring drugs etc in there. Is there anything worth stealing out of there? Small businesses shouldn't be alienating potential customers with nonsensical policies. I like to support gay owned stores but I'm never going back there.

Decent prices, but odd way of deciding what you can buy with cash vs credit card. Also the guy working there did not seem to want to be there. No social skills and no sense of humor.
