Santa Teresa County Park

I started from the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch Historic Area entrance on Manila Dr. It is beautiful trail, but in some areas it is very hard to find ways to the right path. Few trails are closed to the public. Make sure you have your phone with you, so you can use your map 🗺️. I wasn’t prepared for 17 miles hike. 😂😂😂 I end up making loop to the main trail, after few missed turns. Great hike with plenty to see.

We enjoyed our time at Santa Teresa County Park. This is in the San Jose Hills and has many great places to do hiking as well as mountain biking. There is also in one area of the park a historic ranch area. There are chickens there There are historic farm buildings and equipment The Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scouts Program) helped to put this exhibit in place. Do note: There can be rattlesnakes in this area so just be aware of that.

Easy to find. Bathrooms and park info at trailhead. Free parking, but limited. Wide trails, well marked. Some sections are steep so bring a hiking stick. It was dry but this trail could be messy after a rain. Great views of the valley, and a cool breeze. Not crowded.

We hiked this for a 7 park challenge put on by the Santa Clara County Parks District last fall and truly enjoyed the wonderful terrain. The rolling hills and wooded ravines provided a 360• panorama without houses. We saw salamanders and newts, lots of deer, and watched the sunset.

Santa Teresa park offers great views and offers a nice hiking trails. It is great for solo hiking or hiking with family or friends. The park is a good size and you will enjoying coming here.

I graduated from University of Dayton with an MBA decades ago and we organized a West Coast Alumnii reunion meeting at Santa Teresa County Park near my home. Delightful setting and we even had delicious catered meal and a memorable reunion!

This place is very close to San Jose area. The trails are well maintained and the park is not crowded. The view on some of the trails is very good. You could get 360 degree panorama at some places. On the Coyote Peak you could see the whole bay area if the air is clean.The tops of the hills are not well shaded by trees though. So if it is hot day, it would be better to visit later or earlier in the day.

you can reserve for up to 300 people. Nice BBQ pits. New park with lots of walking trails. Exhibits tell the story of the park and local area. Musuem will be great when it opens

The rolling hills and flat tops are wonderful to travel around. Wildlife of many different kinds and clear running creeks. There are many trails to take some easy some harder, but all worth it.

I had an hour or so to spend before dinner and was able to drive up to the park and explore. I took a 2 mile hike and had a great time. A very nice park with many varied hiking and biking trails.
