About this place Almaden Quicksilver County Park

Almaden Quicksilver County Park, in the hills of south San Jose off McAbee Road, is a large open-space preserve of former mercury-mining trails that has a long-standing, low-key reputation as a daytime gay cruising spot, particularly around the trailhead parking areas. This is a public county park where discreet gay cruising has been reported over many years across cruising directories. Activity is informal, weather- and time-dependent, and never guaranteed. The park is on public land; be aware of park hours, other visitors including families, and local laws, and always prioritise consent, discretion and personal safety.

Went end of May and it was dry so I was disappointed. I like greens and streams and trees wayyyyy more. Good short hike. I probably won’t come back

Absolutely love going here and getting out on the trails and running. Amazing views throughout the entire park, especially when you get up higher.

This is a great place for an educational field trip. This place tells you all about different ones and mining materials in the old days and mercury.
