Centennial’s Management: Poor Service and Room Issues (Ashley) I booked a reservation in January for the Fourth of July holiday. I called in advance and spoke personally with the booking staff using a local 509 phone number. I specifically requested a deluxe king room with a large balcony facing Riverfront Park (not a tower, but the main building—something we had in previous years). In the days leading up to the holiday, I called again three days prior to confirm we would be placed on the main floors. I was told the room we wanted was available. Despite that, we were moved at the last minute. They told me that if someone shows up the day before, they “bump you” out of the room—even though we had reserved it. We ended up with a 7th-floor room that did not face Riverfront Park. While it was still the best available spot for watching the downtown Spokane fireworks, the experience was far below what we had received in previous years. The room was disappointing for the same price we paid: • Smaller balcony than expected • The A/C was broken—temperature neverdropped below 79°F, and the room stayed extremely hot • The refrigerator wasn’t cooling properly, so-we couldn’t keep our food • The toiletries weren’t stocked properly; it appeared the previous guest used them (the la’Octane soaps usually included with the room were missing) When I brought these issues to their attention, Ashley’s response was unprofessional. She said, “You get what you get,” in an unreasonable tone, with no meaningful apology. Since this is a special event we plan for every year, this level of service was unacceptable. Then today, on check-in, we found even more issues. The manager, Ashley, refused to address the room’s disrepair in a respectful way. The room was disgusting, including visible stains and trash (blood/urine stains, band-aids, pill baggies), and missing toiletries (soaps, shampoo, body wash). The balcony curtains had spider webs and the windows were visibly dirty. There was also leftover food (a pretzel) behind the bed. Even the bathroom sink was leaking. We did not receive the standard clean-up we expected. We called guest services multiple times because the room was unlivable due to the heat. The restaurant staff, however, was great. We went to get away from the hot room, enjoy dinner, and cool off with a few drinks. I also want to note that the fireworks viewing setup didn’t go as promised. A bartender told us he would reserve a table for us to watch the fireworks, but the reservation wasn’t honored—our table was given to someone else. It seems like the Centennial treats even paid viewing services as first-come, first-served without honoring reservations. I understand that during high-volume times some rooms may not be available. But we repeatedly confirmed before the holiday that we wouldn’t be put in a tower, and we still were. We had better service in past years—especially when there were thousands more people. Because of the repeated issues and the rude, dismissive handling of our concerns, we will not be returning. This cost Centennial future business and lost revenue from guests who have returned year after year. I did cancel my week stay reservation @ Davenport ( Historical Suite) because of this matter. No thanks I’m not experiencing a problem with management again.

Disappointing experience. I will not stay here again. Watch out for hidden fees including a $20-per-night “resort fee” over and above what you actually pay for the room. They also charged us a $5 breakfast fee which “we don’t have the discretion to remove” even though we never ate breakfast or ate in the restaurant. Good location, right by Riverfront Park. Parking lot has automated entry and exit and never once worked as advertised for anybody. We waited in lines in our cars and had to repeatedly try different tricks to get our access cards to work. Had to walk to the front desk twice because our car was stuck in the lot. Our Executive Suite was dirty when we arrived. No shelves in the shower so no place to put washcloths or towels. Asked for more towels and they never arrived.

Best location, great staff. The location by riverfront is unbeatable in walkability to the parks, for kids. The room itself was not super comfortable - hurricane air AC they cannot be turned off - the thermostat is just there for looks, it did absolutely nothing. The shower is a very cold experience because there's no door on it at all, and even the bathroom door is not a real door. The bed comforter is pretty minimal so I was cold at night. The lamp switch was broken, and the TV remote hardly worked because Dish is just crazy slow to be almost unusable. The restaurant was great, service was top - entrees were very high quality (ahi tuna, tacos) but the pizza was not fully cooked and raw in the middle. I would be on the fence about coming here again, as it's a good location but the room is so cheaply executed. I will say the kids loved the pool, that was their favorite (no slides, but there is a kiddie one 2ft deep).

The rooms are beautiful. Awesome pool with DJs and bar and food on weekends. Perfect spot to walk by the river.

I had two conferences within a few days and had booked this place for both. The first was one night- I got in late due to a delayed flight. Checked in to my room and was unpacking when I noticed the room had not been fully cleaned or stocked with towels, etc. I went to the front desk and they moved me to the only room still open and offered a "I'll let the cleaning staff know." And that was it. The new room was smaller stuffy and right off the lobby. I took it for the one night. When I returned for the 2nd conference I was put on the basement floor- my window opened directly to the parking lot row of cars so i had to keep my drapes closed. This room was smaller than the first two and stuffy, as well. In the morning I went to the lobby coffee bar at 8am. Two girls were there setting up but the lights were still low. One said "sorry, we arent open yet." I pointed out the sign that said "opens at 6am." And they just shrugged. Overall, disappointing.

I just tried to call to buy a gift card to either the hotel or Restaurant. "We can't take any card over the phone. Doordash or Lyft!" Can I be transferred to your restaurant? "They will tell you the same thing!" (Yelling) You are really rude. CLICK. WOW! I'm literally trying to give you money. Picked a restaurant close buy and bought my gift card. He obviously doesn't care.

It's a well used hotel, but it works. We had a couple of challenges but after cleaning the table in our room (slimy substance and tons of crumbs on it - told the front desk guy) and finally getting a parking pass that worked, we're in for the evening. Xavier was front desk person.
