About this place Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita

The Anahita Four Seasons Resort Mauritius is consistently rated among the finest resort properties in the Indian Ocean and among the best Four Seasons in the world. Set on a private peninsula on the island's east coast at Beau Champ, the resort is built around a private lagoon of extraordinary clarity and colour, with overwater villas, beachfront and garden residences, multiple restaurants, spa facilities of the highest quality, and golf on a championship course designed by Ernie Els. For LGBTQ+ travelers, the Anahita Four Seasons represents the gold standard of what Mauritius offers. Four Seasons operates a globally consistent and explicitly inclusive policy toward LGBTQ+ guests ? same-sex couples are welcomed and treated without distinction throughout their stay, and staff are trained to international standards that make this a practical reality rather than a marketing statement. In a country where decriminalisation only arrived in 2023 and broader social acceptance is still evolving, the bubble of professional excellence that a Five-star international resort like this provides is particularly valuable. The resort experience is immersive and largely self-contained: private beach, lagoon, pools, restaurants of various styles, spa, water sports, tennis, the golf course. Most guests spend the majority of their time within the resort environment, which is precisely what makes it such a reliable choice for LGBTQ+ visitors. Excursions to explore the rest of Mauritius ? the south coast, the interior, Grand Baie in the north ? can be arranged through the resort's concierge with the same professional service. The Anahita is the island's premier experience and priced accordingly. For special occasions, honeymoons, or those for whom only the best will do, it sets the standard for the Indian Ocean.

I see the reviews above by other customers and I am seriously concerned whether we are talking about the same hotel. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for a wedding and we are vegans with diet geared towards veganism. We were not happy about food service received.

We stayed at this hotel this spring. We had unpleasant experiences with their service and location. + We couldn't find anything other than the room stock. When we checked out, they promised cashback for their shortcomings, but they didn't credit us. Four months have passed. I don't recommend their management, policies, or attitude. We chose this hotel because we stayed at the Four Seasons in Cairo, and it was completely inadequate.

The villa and location are absolutely stunning. My husband and I have stayed at several Four Seasons resorts around the world, including the one in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a few months ago, where the service was simply impeccable. Unfortunately, the Four Seasons Mauritius is, by far, the worst experience we've had with this chain. The service is extremely slow, disorganized, and falls far short of Four Seasons standards. For a hotel where you pay several hundred, even thousands of euros per night, this is unacceptable. Communication via WhatsApp is a disaster. We tried to book a restaurant starting at 2:30 p.m., but replies arrived every 30 to 40 minutes. Because of this slowness, we missed out on booking the restaurant we wanted and had to settle for one of the hotel's restaurants. Even that reservation was complicated. Room service is equally disappointing. We ordered a club sandwich at 11:35 p.m. At 1:20 a.m., we still hadn't received anything, with no information or apology. Waiting over an hour and a half for a simple sandwich in an establishment of this caliber is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, this lack of responsiveness was repeated throughout our stay. We constantly felt like we had to nag the staff to get even the smallest service. At no point did we feel like guests of a luxury hotel. Finally, although it's difficult to say for sure, we had the impression that the level of attention given to guests varied depending on their background. We observed that white or Arab guests seemed to receive much faster and more attentive service than we did. I sincerely hope this was just an impression, but that's how we experienced it, and it made our stay even more unpleasant. What a shame, because the property is splendid. The first day was perfect, and we thought we were in for an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was a series of disappointments. A hotel of this caliber should never offer such a poor level of service. We will not be returning to this establishment and certainly would not recommend it.

A perfect experience that I highly recommend including in your itinerary. Their attention to detail throughout the resort and their exceptional service will make you want to spend all your time there without ever needing to leave. The restaurants are among the best in Mauritius. We tried the Italian, Indian, and seafood restaurants, and all were top-notch. The breakfast is delicious and varied. The beaches are beautiful with breathtaking views, but be careful when swimming and diving due to the presence of coral reefs that can cause skin irritation. The lobby has a perfect view, and they serve excellent V60 specialty coffee, which is a rare find on the island. The resort's main drawback is its distance from the main attractions in the central, western, and northern parts of the island, so I recommend choosing it as the last stop on your trip.

A wonderful resort and an exceptional experience. The reception, rooms, service, and breakfast were all 10/10. I loved that the rooms were cleaned twice a day and that there was a laundry service (since the rooms have a pool). We tried the waterfall trip, and it was fantastic and well worth it. They have a private beach on Ille aux Cerfs, which I find better than the resort's beaches. My only comment is that the à la carte dinner restaurants are good, but not the best. I wish they would improve them. + It would be great if there was a supermarket since it's far from the city.
