About this place 88mph

88mph is a gay bar and club located on Level 7 of a central Canberra address, making it a key venue for LGBTQ+ nightlife in Australia's capital city. As a dedicated gay venue, it provides a welcoming space where you can expect to find a community-focused atmosphere designed for LGBTQ+ guests and allies. Canberra's gay bar scene is relatively compact compared to larger Australian cities, which means venues like this one often serve as important gathering spaces for locals and visitors alike. The central location makes it accessible and easy to find. For current information about opening hours, special events, themed nights, or what to expect on any given evening, we recommend checking their website at https://88mph.bar/ or reaching out directly. This will help you plan your visit and make the most of your time in Canberra's LGBTQ+ scene.

The vibes here are pretty good, but I wouldn't recommendation going karaoke on any night that isn't free because the song selection is not very new gen and not worth 90 bucks...

Didn't try the food but staff were awesome at accommodating our large group for last minute kareoke. Had a blast, the atmosphere was awesome and not too crowded so plus in my book. Bar staff lovely, served free soda and lime to us all. Will be coming back for sure.

Wanted a pina Colada..."sorry, dont have it". Then asked for a Miami Vice..."sorry, don't have it". asked for a hard rated lemon..., "sorry don't have it" (All of these were on the menu) At this point its probably not unfair to ask, what they actually have, but it was fourth time lucky with the Cosmo. However, I asked for one but received and was charged for two. Sloppy. Has a far better customer base than it deserves.

Can be a fun place but $17.50 for a basic drink
