Azure
Some visitors praise Azure for its welcoming atmosphere and the friendly interactions with locals and the bartender, even with a language barrier, and describe it as an authentic Japanese gay bar experience. However, a significant number of reviewers complain about rude and unwelcoming bartenders, expensive cover charges for mediocre drinks and snacks, and a generally unwelcoming or "members only" vibe.

There are several men standing by the elevator that won’t even let you up and tell you “members only.” Then there are other reviews saying the same thing and the bar owner comments “we will never refuse service to non members.” Which makes me think the locals are gatekeeping this as a non tourist bar. Terrible business model.
My brother and I had an awesome night at this bar! Thank you! We were the only tourists and the locals welcomed us very warmly, despite the language barrier. The barmen made sure to make us comfortable and interacted with us with google translate. We joined their karaoke and had tons of fun! 🎤 I think the bad reviews are just people who don't how to communicate with japanese.. clearly if you come right before they close, they're gonna refuse your entry.
Great long running GAY bar! Master is hot.
We were turned away and told “Japanese only” by the security staff in front.
Can confirm they will not let you in if you are not Japanese. Turned away at stairs leading up. Was told by man at bottom of stairs “Japanese only”. I said “For Azure?” Man at bottom of stairs said “Yes”. I do not tell “misleading stories”.
