About This Event
Taiwan LGBT Pride, Asia's biggest LGBTQ+ Pride event, pulls over 100,000 people onto Taipei's central streets every year. Since 2019, when Taiwan became the first place in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, it's been more than just a protest. It's a celebration of rights won, even as advocates push for legal protections still missing.
The parade usually kicks off at Ketagalan Boulevard, right in front of the Presidential Office. From there, it snakes through the city center, past Taipei Main Station and into Zhongshan. Expect floats, marching groups, performances, and a real sense of collective joy.
Pride week itself fills up with community events: parties, film screenings, panel discussions, art shows, cultural performances. Ximending, a major shopping and entertainment district, turns into a full-blown festival zone, with special events at all the big venues.
If you're coming from out of town, book your hotel months ahead. Rooms get scarce fast as the date approaches. Pride usually happens the last Saturday of October or the first Saturday of November. Check the official Taiwan LGBT+ Pride website for the exact 2026 date.
