MIX Copenhagen Film Festival
About This Event
MIX Copenhagen, Denmark's queer film festival, has been around since 1986. It started out as the Copenhagen Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Volunteers run the non-profit festival.
The Lili Award, named after Danish trans painter Lili Elbe, is given for feature, documentary, and short film.
Screenings take place in central Copenhagen cinemas over ten days in late autumn. In 2025, Cinemateket and Empire Bio hosted the festival. For 2026, you can buy tickets through Empire Bio's booking system. Each film is ticketed separately, so you don't need to commit to the whole festival - just drop in for a single screening.
The 2026 festival runs from 30 October to 8 November. Check the festival's website for the full programme, venue details, and accessibility information.
