About this place Impala-Coffee Kaffeerösterei

Impala-Coffee Kaffeerösterei, just south of Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn, is a small, easygoing coffee shop in Schöneberg that’s a favorite with the local gay crowd.

It’s a relaxed place. They do good coffee, and a few cakes—the apple-walnut comes recommended. When the sun's out, the outdoor tables fill up, and it’s a good spot to watch Schöneberg go by.

Schöneberg has been one of Berlin's main gay neighborhoods for decades, and Impala fits right in. Like the other gay-friendly cafés around here, it’s a comfortable space to meet up, talk, and just be yourself without fuss.

The U-Bahn is right there, so it's easy to get to, whether you're staying in the area or just passing through. It's an unpretentious alternative to some of the flashier spots, a real neighborhood place in a district that knows how to welcome its LGBTQ+ visitors. Check their website for current hours.

The atmosphere is unpleasant, and while the ambiance seems cozy at first glance, it's deceptive. The furniture is all quite worn and somewhat shabby/dirty. I understand the vibe they're trying to create, but there shouldn't be food scraps on the cushions or dried-on sauces on the floor. The back of the bench inside hasn't been wiped down in months; the layer of dust is so thick. The bench outside is about to collapse. The bagels were okay, but that depends on which ones you choose. The cappuccino was very good 👍🏻

I went here every morning for an affordable bagel and a coffee. Always nice staff, fast service and the food and coffee was great! They also have a wide variety in pastories. Worth checking out!
