About this place Hasir

Hasir on Maaßenstraße: Reliable Turkish food in Berlin’s gay neighborhood. Of Hasir’s six Berlin locations, the one on Maaßenstraße feels especially comfortable if you’re LGBTQ+. It’s got that conventionally masculine, affable vibe, a no-fuss spot where locals turn up again and again. You’ll find well-made Turkish classics: homemade soups like the red lentil *Rote Linsensuppe*, shish kebabs, fresh salads, and fish. The *dürüm döner* (doner kebab slices and salad rolled in flat bread) is a solid, cheap choice. They open at 8am every day, so Turkish breakfast is on, too. It’s a good shout whether you’re starting the day or looking for lunch or dinner. This is a neighborhood fixture, not a party spot. Come for good food, fair prices, and a genuinely gay-friendly place to unwind, with company or alone. Check their website for current hours and what’s in season.

Located in Berlin's Turkish Quarter, this place serves delicious döner kebabs and other Turkish dishes. It's also a popular spot frequented by many famous Turkish figures. We tried the döner and it was excellent; highly recommended. There might be a queue, so you should expect to wait 10-15 minutes.

I came from Turkey and chose this place to eat. I was treated incredibly coldly. I would have been better welcomed at a German restaurant. Unfortunately, they were not hospitable. Also, the döner kebab was overrated and not tasty at all.

The döner kebab option we chose for a quick bite was really good; it had a delicious döner inside freshly baked, warm flatbread. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful.
