About this place John Glet

John Glet sells workwear with attitude, and specifically the German carpenter's trousers with two parallel zips over the crotch. It's a gay shop in Berlin, but anyone who likes sturdy, sometimes sexy clothes for working people will find something. The focus is on Zunfthose (or Zimmermannshose), those legendary carpenter's trousers that have become a staple of queer fashion and workwear culture. They're comfortable, and they make a statement. The Glet brand goes way back, to Hamburg in 1843. For nearly two centuries, it developed alongside protective clothing, from waterproof and leather garments to modern materials like Gore-Tex. The family sold the company in 1993, but the current management has kept that legacy going, adding a contemporary vision to a brand with deep roots. You'll find a well-chosen selection of workwear here, all of it leaning into that worker-sexy look. Maybe you want authentic carpenter's trousers, or just durable everyday clothes, or pieces that mix function with queer style. Either way, this is a place for quality clothing with character. It's at Mehringdamm 27, and you can shop online at shop.john-glet.de.

My heart bleeds: now they're closing too 🙈 It was always a great shop with very competent staff and a good selection. It's a tragedy. No decent shops left at Mehringdamm U-Bahn station. Almost only fast-food outlets and empty storefronts.

Please do not buy shoes with special offers because they sell broken ones.

Super friendly and competent advice. Much better than ordering online; here you are valued as a customer.
