I'm a 55 year old Man, from Dublin, I was away with my family on the June bank holiday week end in Galway, The girls in my family wanted to go shopping in Galway city, so i said to my sister, if you come to 13 on the green pub, with me and i asked her could she stand outside with the dogs, while i go inside to get a beer, and ill bring it out side to drink so she can head off shopping, so i walk in to 13 on the green around 4pm to the bar and there's a young barman there, he's has a stubble beard and ide guess maybe 26years old, so i say hi a pint of Carlsberg please, and he reply's have you had a few today, and i said no, not a drop, so he says again what do you want and a reply a pint of Carlsberg please, again he says have you had a few, and i say again no not a drop, and he say with a smirk on his face, I wont be serving you today. your drunk?. he took me by surprise, i said are you for real, i haven't had an beers today, my family are out side, There going shopping and i just wanted to wait out side with the dogs, and he said, your not getting served here today, i said really, your joking, and he said no, so i headed for the exit, the door was a bit stiff, and he says to a punter, look at him, he cant even open the door, i looked back at him, in anger and went outside, My sister said were is Your pint and i said the bar man wont serve me, he said i have had a few to many, my sister, said Brendan you didn't have any beer today, so she went into the bar man, and gave out to him, he completely back down and said to her i mad a mistake, he can have a beer and he can bring the dogs in side if he wants, she came out with a pint, i was very upset the way that guy treated me, And he didn't even have the decency to be a Man and come out and apologize to me, my voice is very rough because i have had throat cancer, so i think he judged me on that, I work as a sales man, and I'm talking on the phone for 45 odd hours a week, and my customers can hear me and understand me, it was Very upsetting, and that's why I'm posting this post. I think that barman needs a reality check, its was a terrible experience for me, Management should ask him what was he thinking and why did he treat me so badly, and with he's smart comments it sounded to me like he enjoyed humiliating me, he is a very bad judge of character, hopefully he doesn't treat someone else like that

My friend and I picked Thirteen on the Green quite by chance for dinner. The service was great, the place is charming, but most of all the food was great. We both had the Irish stew, the best I have ever had,( and not to brag, but I make a pretty good srew

Food has been consistently good here. I've just had a bowl of chowder and some chips and a coffee. I was very happy with the food and service. I paid by card as I had no cash at all on me. Paying by card meant I couldn't tip the waitress that served me. Would be great to see this amended.
