What a lovely hostel! Clean and inviting. We booked a 4 bed private room (2 bunk beds) with shared bathroom/shower. The common are is perfect. It has everything a traveler may need! Check out pictures. The man at the front desk was informative and gave us a map highlighting where traditional Irish music is played (it was our request) He was personable and lively to chat with. The family said their bunks were fine but my mattress was a bit uncomfortable. As there was a dip in the center of it. However, I am just stating that to be informative. It was nothing to complain about considering the price, cleanliness, and location. Everything is just a walk away. Located in the heart of Galway tourist area. Bus station is literally next door. Ample parking lot next door as well, for 12 euro per 24 hours. I will also mention that the walls are pretty thin. Around 1am a female was cackling for almost 10 minutes and woke us up. We opened the door to let her know, nicely of course. She then stopped and apologized. The bars stay open until 3am so the younger crowds tend to get a bit loud. Understandably. They do have a breakfast but we left early so we did not stay and enjoy it. They do have coffee and tea on 24/7 which was lovely for us early birds. If we are ever in town we would for sure, stay here again!
On of the best hostels I've had. I had a short but perfect stay here. Very nice and friendly employees, very clean rooms and breakfast was great as well. You can alway make different teas or coffees, more than enough spots to charge and the common room is beautiful as well.
Great staff, great sleeping arrangements, heck I hear they do laundry well here too from the other guests.
I understand why this has won best hostel multiple years! The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms are small and quiet (and come w privacy curtains on the beds), everything was clean and it could not be more centrally located - just a ten minute walk to the Latin Quarter, 15 mins to the West End and, of course, it's located right on Eyre Square. Highly recommend!
Had an absolutely amazing 2-week stay at Galway City Hostel!! Everyone involved with the hostel is incredible. Tom, Maura, and Leah were all so friendly and helpful and are a big reason why I loved staying here. The pub crawls are a fantastic event that is held 5 times a week and really helps bring guests together to meet each other. Really helped me feel comfortable being a solo traveler during the stay. The location is also perfect. Right on Eyre Square and ridiculously close to all the pubs in the Galway area. Showers have good/great water pressure and the water stays hot. I have 0 negative things to say about this place. I’ll be back and it won’t be soon enough. Genuinely sad to be leaving.
