About this place Anarca Bar

Anarca Bar is one of Lisbon’s most straightforward gay bars, a place to eat and drink on Rua Cecílio de Sousa.

You’ll find Anarca in Príncipe Real, a neighborhood that’s become a hub for the city’s LGBTQ+ scene. This isn't a spot for late-night clubbing. Think more of a casual café where you can grab a bite and a drink, and feel completely comfortable doing it.

The vibe is unfussy. It’s a good place to start an evening, or end one quietly, especially if you’re traveling alone or just want to chill with friends without having to shout over music. They’ve got food, too, which makes it an easy stop if you’re hungry and don’t want to move on.

Lisbon has grown into a seriously popular spot for LGBTQ+ travelers. Anarca Bar is exactly the kind of friendly, low-key place that helps make the city feel so welcoming.

Incredible food here! By far the best restaurant we tried in Lisbon. The duck and peri peri chicken were amazing but the popcorn shrimp and the basque cheesecake were standouts. We even ordered a second serving of the popcorn shrimp. The only thing I would skip next time are the croquettes (they were fine but nothing special). Highly highly recommend this restaurant

The food is simply amazing! I ordered duck with apple and artichokes, and didn't expect it to taste so good. My companion had pork with mussels, and it was delicious as well. The service is impeccable ❤️ Thank you for the experience!

Visiting Lisbon from Melbourne and this was one of the best restaurants I think I’ve ever been to. I got the piri-piri chicken and chocolate mousse - both are probably the best versions of the idea I’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crisp and charred skin, juicy breast - perfect! It came with crushed tomatoes and tzatziki which complimented the chicken so nicely. Super tasty! The mousse came with flaky sea salt and olive oil - I’m used to salt with chocolate but the olive oil was new for me and so good! Went really well with the mousse which was fluffy, soft, and rich! Unreal food, complimented with a good playlist and friendly, attentive staff. I have limited time in Lisbon yet I came two days in a row I loved the food so much (and might make it back in my final night too!). If I ever come back to the city (which I hope I do!) this will be my first stop, no question about it!
