Scandic Crown
Many visitors praise the hotel's excellent value, perfect central location, and delicious breakfast with great variety. However, common complaints include messy settings, particularly at breakfast with overcrowding and insufficient staff, and issues with room cleanliness and outdated facilities like bathtubs. Some guests also found the parking expensive and the spa amenities not up to standard.

Newly renovated and fresh rooms. Central and good location.
We stayed for 5 nights in a Superior Twin Room and unfortunately left very disappointed. The main issue was that the room was simply not what was advertised. We specifically paid extra for a Superior Twin Room because the photos showed a noticeably larger and brighter room. However, the room we received was much smaller than expected, with a window facing the interior of the hotel rather than outside. To make matters worse, the window could not even be opened. What was most frustrating was the response from the reception staff. When we explained that the room did not match the pictures and asked if we could be moved to a room similar to the one being advertised, the staff acknowledged that the photos were misleading and seemed aware that guests could have this impression. Despite this, we were told that no other rooms were available. It is difficult to accept paying a premium for a room category when even the hotel staff recognize that the advertised images do not accurately represent what guests may receive. The beds were another major disappointment. Rather than feeling like proper hotel beds, they seemed to consist of simple mattresses placed on top of bed bases. The mattresses would slide around easily, the beds creaked with movement, and overall they felt unstable and uncomfortable. For a hotel in this price range, we expected a much higher standard of comfort and sleep quality. Room cleaning was only provided upon request. This may be standard practice in Sweden, so I do not consider that a major issue. However, given the overall experience and the price charged for the room, I do not believe this hotel offers good value for money. There are many hotels in Göteborg, and based on our experience, I would strongly recommend comparing other options before booking this one. We paid extra expecting a superior room experience and did not receive what was advertised. Between the misleading room photos, the lack of a proper view, the uncomfortable beds, and the overall quality of the room, this hotel fell far short of expectations.
