Turk's Head (Hotel)

Steeped in history. Old tavern. Great location. Fantastic luxury rooms. Great food. The staff were brilliant. Happily stay again.

Stayed here several times now and can't fault it, staff in the bar are great and the rooms are comfy, spacious and immaculately clean - so shout out to the housekeeper Tyler who left a little welcome message in my room. It's right in the centre of Exeter, so close to loads of restaurants, shops and bars - although the nature of the building means accessibility to most of the rooms is up some steep and narrow staircases, so not for those with mobility issues.

Charming pub hotel located right in central Exeter, extremely convenient location and run by friendly staff. Room decor and comfort is of note: very well maintained, super comfy bed and well provisioned facilities. Shower pressure is strong enough to detach your soul from your body! Only two niggles are the lack of fresh air (windows were sealed, mostly for comfort from noise, draft, etc...) and in the evening, you'll hear some music coming from downstairs (didn't bother me but light sleepers might want to take note), ear plugs are provided to counter this. These issues are more to do with the fact it is a 700 years old Grade II listed building so there are understanding limitations to what can be changed. All-in-all, a lovely stay, would definitely return to Turk's Head in future if visiting or passing by Exeter.

I stayed at this hotel during my holiday to Exeter from Colchester due to personal accommodation plans falling through. When I arrived to check in, which you do at the pub bar, the staff made me feel comfortable, which as someone who has Autism is fantastic. I booked a double room for myself and it was fantastic. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. I highly recommend this hotel as it is on the main Exeter High Street, with shops and fast food restaurants a stone's throw away, as well as the option of eating at the pub where you check in.

Beautiful building. Love this pub right in centre of town. Good selection of good beers including a fine sour. Friendly service. All good.

Very cute little rooms, well maintained and perfectly located in the city centre. Above a pub so some noise at night but eye masks and ear plugs are helpfully provided. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower, even for a 700-year old building it’s terrible 🫣.

I LOVE The Turk's Head. Iona is the best pub quiz host and I have been to many pub quizzes in my lifetime. She is so funny and friendly. The pub has a great atmosphere and the drinks are fantastic!

The room was well presented and clean. You do have to go up a couple of sets of stairs to get to the rooms which are via a door separate from the pub. There was NOT a lot of noise from the pub when I was there and I got a very good nights sleep. The Turks Head has a great atmosphere, offers a range of good real ales. I did not have a meal on this visit so I cannot comment. The location is in the high street so there is a wide range of shops and eating places nearby.

The staff were amazing, I’d had an eye operation and go discharged early so I came to the room earlier than planned.this let me check in early and helped me to my room. The room was spotlessly clean and very cosy I would definitely stay again.

I had a lovely stay! Perfect location right in the centre, big cosy room and en-suite, really friendly staff, and I recommend making the most of their great beer.

Fantastic stay

Our stay here was phenomenal! We had already heard such great things about the pub itself and boy it lived up to the expectation - the pints were fab and the Sunday roast was YUM! Aside from this the room was absolutely gorgeous and extremely clean… complimentary nespresso pods were the cherry on the cake for us. Would recommend to everyone👍🏼
