Ottawa is a relatively small capital city with a tight-knit LGBTQ+ community. The sauna scene is limited — one established bathhouse serving regulars in the Westboro area and a gay bar strip in the ByWard Market neighbourhood.

Club Ottawa

The established bathhouse in Ottawa — an old-school venue in the Westboro neighbourhood, without the frills of the larger Toronto venues but functional and consistent. Steam room, dry sauna, showers, video areas, play spaces, and lockers. Blackout-themed events on the last Thursday of each month. Attracts an older demographic and peaks during weekday afternoons given its distance from the bar district. Open until 1am most nights.

Ottawa's Gay Scene

The Bank Street area in the Centretown neighbourhood has the main concentration of gay bars — several venues within walking distance. Ottawa Pride is in August and is one of the larger Pride events in Ontario outside of Toronto. Being the national capital, it carries additional political weight and often features significant official participation.

⚠ Practical note: Ottawa is a comfortable, safe city. Club Ottawa is in Westboro, which is not the gay bar district — you'll want Uber or transit to connect between the sauna and the Bank Street bars. The city is very LGBTQ+-friendly overall as Canada's capital.
