Parque Ibirapuera

São Paulo's central park — 4.2 square kilometres, open 5am to midnight daily. The areas near the Planetarium and Museum of Modern Art (MAM) and around the Marquise outdoor structure have long been known cruising spots. Afternoons and evenings see most activity, particularly on weekends. Discretion required — this is a major public park with families, joggers, and cyclists throughout.

Rua Augusta

The central axis of São Paulo's gay nightlife, split into two distinct sections. Baixa Augusta (lower Augusta, toward the centre) is where the bars concentrate: Club Yacht, Jerome, Tunnel Club, and plenty of street life spilling out. The street comes alive after midnight and runs through to early morning. Alta Augusta (upper Augusta) is more gallery spaces, vintage shops, and calmer venues but shares the same broadly queer-friendly character.

Largo do Arouche

A square in the city centre with a long history as a gay gathering point — surrounded by gay bars, clubs, and the 24-hour venue 269 Chilli Pepper. Evening cruising activity happens in and around the square; it's more of a social outdoor space than a park scene.

República Square & Nearby

Downtown, near gay bars, saunas, and cinemas that have operated in this area for decades. Evening activity in the square and surrounding streets; be aware of the general safety situation downtown at night.

São Paulo Pride

The annual Pride parade in June is the largest in the world by attendance — drawing 3–5 million people along Avenida Paulista. It runs from late afternoon through the evening and the after-party scene extends across the city. Book accommodation many months in advance if you're planning to attend.
