My partner took me here for my birthday dinner. We had empenadas and provoleta as starters, I had the ribeye cap with a side of kale with mushrooms, and my partner had the papardelle al funghi. I've been to more than a few parilladas in Buenos Aires and Cordoba, and Artango could go toe to toe with the best of them. The only dish that wasn't a complete hit was the provoleta. I chalked it up to maybe not being Argentine provolone, which is typically denser and holds its shape better under heat than the US version. Overall a great experience, though.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Little hard to communicate across the table when it’s busy and loud, but for the most part everything was great. Service was promt, food and drinks are a 10/10. I got the 12oz NY strip with plantains, and the steak was so flavorful and charred perfectly! The ambience was great, I definetly will be back again!
Went here to celebrate my dad’s and my birthday. We were very disappointed with the steak, and for being a steak house I feel like that’s just a shame. Tried to order the beef de ancho and apparently as one of the first parties there on Friday night, they were already out. So ended up going with the ribeye. They served us a brick of meat. It was cooked to medium, but hard and chewy. I told the waiter and he looked at the steak stating it’s cooked to temp. True, but that meat was not a ribeye. We were disappointed to say the least. And spending close to $100 per person, we would hope to have steak that is actually worth coming for. Appetizers and paella was good. We appreciated the live pianist. We probably will not be returning…
We visited today for family dinner. We had pre-purchased Groupon (2 New York Steaks). Server said we should get 7 oz size steak instead of regular size 12 oz for Groupon. Honestly, I could not find this kind of condition in Groupon details. What is real benefit for Groupon’s discounted price with discounted size of food? Additionally, the bill was 18% tip automatically added because of Groupon. Why did I need to lose my own chance to leave the tip because of I wanted to use Groupon voucher ? I got impression kind of misleading customer. The steak was ok and Pasta was not good. I think the main purpose of Groupon is promotion and marketing this restaurant but I got impression I got abused this deal. I contacted Groupon and confirmed this is not condition that I get smaller size food with Voucher using. This means today server abused us with misleading info. Not honest restaurant….
The experience and the concept were excellent. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and told that the show was about to begin. For us Argentinians, it was like being back home. Our friends from Chicago loved the way they were guided regarding the wine and the menu. The food was incredible: empanadas, grilled meats, salad, and flan. Everything was served at the right time and prepared perfectly. The wine list was a 10/10. We will not only return but also highly recommend it. The entire staff was very attentive.
If I could give 10 stars for service, I would. I made a wrong choice with paella, ignoring the fact that I don't love fish but wanting to try it anyways, and the server could tell I was not enjoying it. It was exactly as described, just not the dish for me. He insisted I get something I would truly enjoy, and that made my night. He had great advice for food and wine, and was very engaging without being too over the top. The caprese empanada was our favorite, and the gnocci was really tasty! I would come back for the service alone.
