Beautiful and comforting place to stay on our exciting adventures in the North East. We highly recommend this place for its character and luxurious surroundings. Every detail was top notch. A super comfortable bed and amazing shower. The walk downtown is a must. The community is super welcoming. Good food and fellowship. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome stay. Easy check-in. The provided welcome packet and literature was extremely helpful. Modernized, clean, nicely decorated and furnished room. Quiet property. Quiet neighborhood w/nearby amenities in town. Easy check-out. Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Staying at 16 Elm was an absolute pleasure.

Loved the spacious and beautiful South Wing suite. The foyer and main house area was breathtaking and had a wide selection of books and games in their library. The host, Nicole was so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back to rest, relax and enjoy!!!

Stepping into this inn feels like slipping back into the early 19th century, where charm, luxury, and an unhurried pace wrap around you from the moment you arrive. Every interaction—finding your room key, pouring water in the dining hall, choosing a record to play, sitting at the piano, or curling up by the fire—feels intentionally crafted. Modern comforts blend seamlessly with a 1920s aesthetic, creating an atmosphere that’s both nostalgic and elevated. Nicole, the manager, was always just a ring away, yet the privacy and quiet were exactly what we cherished. It is an old house, and with that comes the gentle hum of life happening around you, which only added to the charm. Our room had thoughtful touches: a fan and noise machine for comfort, and a beautiful fire that transformed cool mornings and evenings into something almost otherworldly. The linens were soft, the bed incredibly comfortable—we joked every morning about wanting to take the whole room home with us. Heated marble floors and a deep soaking tub became our sanctuary after long days of hiking and exploring. The provided bath salts and plush robes were the perfect finishing touch. Main Street is just a short walk away. We tried the brewery but found the food a bit too salty for our taste—the crispy chicken sandwich and poutine didn’t quite land. But the market quickly became our favorite spot, and 16 Elm’s vouchers made it even better. The drip coffee was excellent, and the farm‑to‑fork dishes were fresh and flavorful. After a five‑plus‑mile run to the lake, we stopped in for a power bowl that hit the spot. We noticed some reviews mentioning a lack of visible staff or service. This experience won’t be for everyone, and that’s part of what makes it special. For us, the feeling of having the house almost entirely to ourselves was magical. It truly felt like time travel—like someone from the early 19th century might wander in at any moment to greet you. That sense of quiet immersion is rare, and we loved every second of it. We’re already talking about when we’ll return.

The hotel is a beautiful home set up like a bed n breakfast. My room was newly updated and very comfortable. The heated bathroom floor and tub area are well done. We enjoyed the music room with turntable and the gas fireplace. The outdoor space was inviting.

We checked in on Monday and left on a Wednesday. We were the only ones that were in the building. They have a room with a turn table and some great albums. Its been a long time since I spun an album. That was a lot of fun. The place was immaculate and comfortable bedding. Location was good, we walked to dinner and breakfast, 2 blocks away. Both places were great too. I'd go back for sure.
