CrescentCare Health (formerly the NO/AIDS Task Force, founded in 1983) is the primary LGBTQ+-focused healthcare provider in New Orleans, operating from its Elysian Fields Avenue facility in the Faubourg Marigny. The organization began as a response to the AIDS crisis — it was one of the earliest AIDS service organizations in the American South — and has evolved into a comprehensive community health centre while maintaining its core commitment to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment. Current services include primary care, HIV and STI testing, PrEP and PEP services, mental health counselling, substance use support, dental care, and social services navigation. CrescentCare operates a clinic model that explicitly serves patients regardless of insurance status, making it a critical resource for the segments of the New Orleans LGBTQ+ community with the least access to mainstream healthcare.
