I was a repeat customer to The Clyde until last month when they put me in an unfinished room!! There was an entire section of wall that was just plywood with no insulation, exposed wires, and uncovered electrical outlets. When I messaged Kasa through AirBnB where I had booked, at first they denied the condition of my room— then after I sent them photos, they said they would have someone from their “team” contact me. That was almost a month ago and I never heard back. After this experience and Kasa just ghosting me when I tried to complain, I’m not coming back to the Clyde. I’m not even sure of that’s safe/up to code.

The hotel was very centrally located and within walking distance of popular attractions, including Powell’s Bookstore. Unfortunately, the room itself had several issues that negatively impacted our stay. Upon arrival, the room had a strange odor. The bathroom light was very dim, making it difficult to see clearly, and the shower head sprayed water in multiple directions, leaving a large puddle on the bathroom floor after each use. The bathtub also felt unsafe to step into and out of due to the slippery conditions. Additionally, when I lifted the comforter toward the light, I noticed multiple stains that became visible through the fabric. Some areas appeared mold-like, which made me uncomfortable using the bedding. As a result, I slept using only the bed sheets. Another inconvenience was that the sink was located outside the bathroom, next to the bed. While the location was excellent, the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety concerns significantly detracted from the overall experience.

Great place and pretty cool layout. The staff was friendly, and the coffee shop connect to it was also nice. Also, the location helps a lot!

This was such an unexpected gem. As a solo female traveler I felt super safe and secure. The front desk was incredibly supportive. I was able to keep luggage there after my checkout while out in the city, they loaned me an umbrella, and the coffee shop tokens were SUCH a treat! Highly recommend this place if you love cozy eclectic spaces and a chill atmosphere! Easy to get to from public transit .

The staff was incredible, they kept my luggage so I could explore, and got me an early checkout. They had music playing in my room when I arrived which set the perfect mood. I was only in Portland for one night and the location was perfect!
