Really good hostel! The staff is really nice. The kitchens are fully equipped. The place is quiet but you can still socialise with others. And the location is perfect!
This backpackers is very nice because kind and friendly staffs, good location, pool, all perfect. You should visit absolutely.
Terrible and unfriendly! You cook with gas, but the owners arbitrarily turn off the gas without prior notice. A note then says, "No gas today." All food must be stored in the room, resulting in ants everywhere! After housekeeping, the air conditioning is switched off and the window opened, allowing even more ants to find their way into the rooms. Showers are only accessible with a curtain, and there isn't even a hook provided! Locking the door is impossible. A complete disgrace.
Great stay. Friendly team. Great room. Fantastic location. Shared kitchen really clean and well stocked too. Plus Bagus Cafe Indonesian restaurant at the front. Highly recommend.
The shared room for four was probably the most uncomfortable I've ever stayed in. There were very few electrical outlets, and the bunk beds were so low that if you got the bottom bunk, you couldn't even sit down and kept bumping your head. Plus, there was only one bathroom for the entire floor, which had three or four rooms. I disliked it so much that I canceled another reservation I had for three days later and decided to go somewhere else.
It was clean and tidy, the guests seemed older so it created a nice atmosphere. It's not a party hostel. It was a bit out of my budget, which is why I couldn't stay longer, but I liked it
I’ve traveled quite a bit along the East Coast, and Caravella Backpackers has been my favorite stay by far. At $42 a night, the value for money is excellent. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The crowd seemed a bit more mature, which made for a very respectful and pleasant environment. Unlike many other hostels, people here don't party until 1 AM, making it very quiet and peaceful at night. I also had a seamless experience with the late check-in, which worked without any issues. The location is unbeatable: 15 min walk to the Central Station (Greyhound bus stop). 7 min walk to the Night Market. Very close to the Esplanade Lagoon and plenty of great cafes, restaurants, and a supermarket. The hostel is very well-maintained. There are two kitchens, and the bathrooms and toilets were always clean—I never once had to queue or wait. There is also a nice pool to relax in, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful time here and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, central, and relaxed place to stay in Cairns.
