Floatilla Hong Kong

Floatilla is a gay day out on Hong Kong's water, held in October. Each group charters its own junk, such as a sports club, a bar or a group of friends. The boats then sail together to a bay that is kept secret until the day, tie up next to each other, and spend the afternoon swimming, drinking and moving between boats. Greg Crandall, known as "Sharkbait" or "the Admiral", started it in 2006. That first year more than 550 people went out on ten boats, and in 2007 more than 1,000 took part.

There is no central ticket. You get on by joining one of the participating boats, and each boat arranges its own music, food and drink. In 2009 registration cost HK$1,500 per junk, and the surplus went to charity. For years Floatilla was part of Pink Alliance's Pink Season festival. The last Pink Season edition we could find was in 2018.

Third-party listings suggest Floatilla has carried on without Pink Season. They point to a mid-October 2026 sail, with a promoter selling a junk package plus an after-party, and they name Chung Hom Kok as the previous meeting spot. We couldn't confirm any of this through an official Floatilla channel, so check the Floatilla Facebook page and get on a boat early.
