About This Event
Floatilla Hong Kong isn't another big, commercial festival. It's the city's annual gay dance party on the water, a unique thing where you book your own boat, pick your crew, sort your food, and then join a huge group of other vessels. Think of it as the community’s "Private Pride"—the party moves from city streets to the open sea.
You'll find gays, lesbians, trans people, club kids, university students, and both locals and expats. Everyone’s there. Each boat brings its own music, so there's no central DJ. The whole thing usually happens at Chung Hom Kok, a cove near South Bay on Hong Kong Island. They'll tell you the exact departure point closer to the date.
There's no single organizer. It runs on everyone taking part. If you want to go, you need to register with one of the boats. Pre-sailing and after-parties often pop up, giving you more chances to dance and meet people. Hong Kong gets busy, so book your hotel early.
