Quite simply the best hotel/ryokan I’ve ever stayed at. The location is ideal, but more than that everyone here is incredibly kind and welcoming. The ryokan itself is very idyllic, and the breakfast is incredible! It made our honeymoon feel even more special.

Close to metro station, amazing service and amenities, lovely owner and team!! Attention to detail makes you feel so much appreciated and taken care of. Highly recommended 🙌🏼😍 for more space, best to have the bigger room but the smaller room works well for 2 adults!

I cannot recommend this lovely Ryokan enough! This was the highlight of our visit to Kyoto. A traditional stay with hospitality that felt like family. The Ryokan is run by a team of amazing women, Yoko is a wonderful and thoughtful hostess. Located in a quiet residential area but very well connected and gives the perfect Kyoto feel. The rooms are super clean and spacious, overlooking a small courtyard. The toiletries were very intentional and of high quality. Our only regret is not staying longer, don’t hesitate to book this place!

My partner and I stayed here for a night in Kyoto in December to experience a traditional ryokan. We absolutely LOVED staying here. Firstly, we were greeted so graciously and kindly by Yoko where we given comfortable slippers and also very kindly offered to clean the outside of our suitcase. The room was clean, spacious, full of light and beautifully decorated. Yoko brought us some beverages, talked a little bit about Kyoto, discussed breakfast with us and then gave us our space to unpack and relax before we headed off for dinner. The bed was made up when we got back and was comfortable (I had my doubts sleeping on the floor!). As it was December it was cold outside but toasty inside - there was heating from a unit and heaters in each room (including bathroom) as well as the bedroom having a heated floor. The next morning, another staff member Twomomi (sorry if I misspelled that!) brought our breakfast to the hotel dining area and we had the most delicious Japanese breakfast and seriously, the most delicious black coffee I've ever had. I ordered the green tea, then I sipped my partner's coffee and she very kindly made me another coffee so I could enjoy some. She was also so lovely to talk to about Kyoto and our trip to Japan. I loved visiting here and will definitely come back if I'm back in Kyoto. We were treated with such amazing and unrivalled hospitality I've ever had. I will be telling everyone to come here!

Everything about Mitsuki was just perfect. We had the Japanese breakfast and it was absolutely delicious, beautiful and the great Kyoto culinary experience that exactly we wanted to have in Kyoto (and the menu even changed daily!). The accommodation was really nice and cozy. The bed was super comfy, the room was clean and smelled good. Before staying at Mitsuki, I was little concerned that the room might not be warm enough, but there was underfloor heating in the bedroom, and individual heaters in every space, so there was absolutely no need to worry at all! And we were able to enjoy a small Japanese-style garden from the bedroom, and feel the peaceful atmosphere of Kyoto. The best part about Mitsuki was the staffs: Yoko-san and Tomomi-san. They were incredibly friendly, kind, and supportive. They always greeted us with smiles and warm greetings whenever we went out or came back, making us feel Mitsuki like home. I sincerely appreciate Yoko-san and Tomomi-san for their warm hospitality, professionalism, and kindness. I would definitely want to stay at Mitsuki again if I have the opportunity to visit Kyoto.

My wife and I stayed at Mitsuki Kyoto for our honeymoon. We loved staying there, the spaces are beautifully furnished and designed, our room overlooked the garden. Yoko our host was amazing she made us both feel very at home and was very helpful and charming, she gave us very good recommendations for places to visit during the day. The Japanese breakfast in was delicious and Japanese whiskey at the secret bar was very special. We would love to stay again if we are back in Kyoto.

I already had high expectations of this place because of the reviews but the experience somehow exceeded them! This was one of the best accommodation experiences I’ve ever had. First, the breakfast was out of this world. One of my best meals in my two weeks in Japan. Absolutely worth it! . Second, I arrived with an injury after spraining my ankle in Hakone. This was the perfect place to recover. Yoko went out of her way to help me and ensure I was comfortable with frequent replenishes of ice for me to ice my ankle. She also checked in with me several times to ensure I was ok. Third, I really appreciated all of Yoko’s recommendations while I was here. She put several local festivals and events on my radar that I had no idea about. NOTE - book this place early! It books up months in advance!!
