Sauna & Capsule Hotel Rumor Plaza

A sauna in Kyoto? And of the highest quality? I visited with some skepticism, but I was completely blown away. First of all, the morning set plan is the best value for money. I was able to enjoy the perfect Kyoto experience: "Sauna first, then sightseeing!" This alone makes it worth the trip. [All 3 Saunas are Authentic] The main sauna on the 6th floor is a löyly sauna equipped with twin stoves from IKI and ZIEL (approximately 84°C). The automatic löyly makes the perceived temperature even hotter than the displayed temperature—it's incredible! Apparently, there's an Aufguss by a sauna master in the evening, which is sure to attract sauna lovers. Going up to the 7th floor, the atmosphere changes completely. Enjoy a self-löyly experience in a dimly lit Finnish sauna (approximately 88°C) with only healing background music! This is also great. Furthermore, there's a super hybrid salt sauna (approximately 70°C) combining natural salt with the far-infrared effect of Shigaraki ceramic tiles. Applying salt all over your body and then rinsing it off leaves your skin incredibly smooth. All three have completely different characteristics, making it a must-try! [The three temperature settings for the cold baths are genius!] The 6th floor has a bath at approximately 18°C, and the 7th floor has two baths at approximately 15°C and 21°C. These three temperature settings are perfectly balanced; you can use 15°C when you want to really cool down, or 21°C when you want to transition slowly into the open air. You can even try a new way to enjoy the baths – alternating between cold and cold – and time just melts away here. The hot spring water has a smooth texture and you can really feel its skin-beautifying effects. It's perfect for finishing off a sauna session. There's also a shallow bath in the observation area, which is also very comfortable! Early morning saunas are addictive!

The sauna and rooftop bath are fantastic. The breakfast is so good you won't get tired of it even if you stay for multiple nights.

I stayed at a capsule hotel. It seems to fill up quickly. It's cheap and the location is great. The morning bath and sauna were refreshing. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was a nice bonus; there were even people drinking and snacking on breakfast from 6 AM.

The baths and saunas are great, with views over town. It's pretty clean. The weird thing is that there are camera's in every corner of the place, both changing rooms and baths, with female staff behind the counter checking the footage, absolute cringe

Excellent value for money. Everything was clean. Lockers, comfortable capsules, sauna area included (2 saunas, one very hot, steam room with salt scrub, several 40°C pools, 2 cold plunge pools, towels, toothbrushes, razors, etc. free of charge, spacious relaxation area, restaurant with fair prices), helpful staff, central location. Would gladly return :-)

The large public bath is a three-story building with three saunas – a truly excellent facility. Unusually for a capsule hotel, they also offer luggage storage on the day of check-out. The only drawback is the high encounter rate with people playing Dragon Quest in the public bath.

This is the only sauna and capsule hotel in Kyoto where you can stay overnight. I believe it's one of the best hot spring facilities in the country. Staff members are constantly patrolling the changing rooms and bathrooms, keeping a watchful eye on everything, and they replenish supplies and clean frequently. Security is also excellent. The amenities are plentiful, and best of all, unlimited towels are provided. The real selling point here is the breakfast buffet, which is incredibly extensive, offering everything from Kyoto specialties to classic dishes – you're guaranteed to be satisfied. The sauna drinks, Chillgo (Chill Out and Real Gold), are unique to this facility and delicious. The capsules are clean and state-of-the-art, and the complimentary 500ml bottle of mineral water in each room is a nice touch. Payment can be made by cash or credit card.

I use this sauna often! Depending on the timing, when young people come in groups and talk without considering those around them in the sauna, I secretly wish the staff would tell them to be quieter. Dealing with people snoring excessively loudly in the nap room is... quite difficult, isn't it? Other than that, it's great.

The usage fee on certain days is a bit pricey at 2,700 yen, but I was very satisfied with the facilities. I recommend it because you can relax there from daytime until late at night.
