About this place Charm Bar

Charm Bar is a small, friendly gay bar tucked into the Soi 6 lane behind Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar, a few steps from Orion Bar and the cluster of gay venues that has long anchored this corner of the city. Run by a welcoming host, it draws a relaxed mix of expats, travelers and locals who come for cheap drinks, easy conversation and the kind of unhurried, chatty atmosphere that defines Chiang Mai's low-key gay nightlife rather than Bangkok's big clubs. It is an easy first stop on a night that usually rolls on to the nearby cabaret and host bars.

I loved the food and the service! I ordered one of their specialties, and everything was delicious. The ambiance was amazing too. Definitely recommend this place if you’re traveling in Chiang Mai!

This restaurant has a great menu and includes many great options for local Thai food, and also more “western” foods like burgers, pizza, and pasta. They can also make many things on their menu vegetarian, and they offer tofu as an option for adding protein to your dish. They have a good cocktail menu and a good selection of beers. They include smoothies and milkshakes on their menu. Service was very good and the food came out fairly quickly, and was well presented. All of our menu choices were well prepared and delicious. The Massaman curry that we ordered was a lot more spicy than we are used to, but when we asked about it, they promptly “adjusted” it for us and it was delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Also, they stay open fairly late, and the jazz club (North Gate Jazz coop) is just around the corner, so you can easily step over there for some great music and a few drinks after dinner.

A good restaurant located on the edge of the old town. I have been here before, so this was my second visit. Beer on tap is a favorite, and they serve it here. There is quite a lot of space inside the restaurant, but also the option to sit outside in front of the entrance, which I chose. A large menu is available, with dishes for both Thais and Western visitors. Pleasant staff made the visit a good experience. Parking is available on the street past the place, or in the surrounding area.
