ACE WEEK (Asexual Awareness Week)

Pride
Sunday, 25 October 2026 · Time TBA – 11:59 PM Nanaimo Pride, Nanaimo, Canada

About the event

It’s Asexual Awareness Week! 💜 🖤 🩶 🤍

Too often, our culture acts like romantic or sexual attraction is a universal requirement for a full, happy life. Ace Week is all about breaking that narrative and celebrating the incredible diversity of the asexual spectrum.

Your capacity for love, connection, joy and fulfillment isn’t defined by sexual attraction. Being ace isn’t a phase, a lack of experience or something to “fix”- it’s a beautiful way of navigating the world.

How to show up for the ace community this week:

• Dismantle the myths: Take time to learn about the spectrum and gently speak up if you hear aphobic jokes, erasure, or assumptions in everyday conversations.

• Normalize diverse relationships: Recognize that deep, meaningful bonds don’t have to follow traditional scripts to be valid and real.

To our ace community: How are you honoring yourselves or finding connection this week? 💜
