Rome Pride — Pride Roma 2027

Rome Pride, or Roma Pride as locals call it, marches through the city's old streets every June. It turns the home of Western civilization into a big party for LGBTQ+ rights, visibility, and Italian queer culture. World Pride Rome happened here in 2000 — the first World Pride ever. Since then, Roma Pride has become one of Italy's biggest, most political Pride events. Hundreds of thousands show up, marching against current challenges to LGBTQ+ rights in Italy.

You'll see floats, drag queens, activists, and party-goers. They wind from Piazza della Repubblica, past the Colosseum and Roman Forum. It often ends with a huge outdoor concert: Italian pop stars, international DJs, and fiery political speeches. The week before the parade is packed with parties at places like Coming Out, near the Colosseum. Circuit events hit clubs in Testaccio and Ostiense. Then there's Gay Village, Rome's famous summer-long outdoor LGBTQ+ festival.

The setting is hard to beat. Rome is a living museum, and during Pride, rainbow flags fly next to monuments two thousand years old. Between events, see Vatican City, throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain. Walk Trastevere's cobblestone alleys. Eat cacio e pepe and drink aperitivos in Monti and Pigneto.

Fly into Fiumicino (FCO) or Ciampino (CIA). Then use the metro, trams, and buses to get around. June is hot and sunny, so bring light cottons, sunscreen, and good walking shoes for the cobblestones. Book where you'll stay in Monti, Trastevere, or near Termini early. Reserve restaurant tables ahead of time during Pride week.

Roma Pride is a chance to march for civil rights in the most historic city on earth. Every step feels like two millennia of history, pushing Italy toward a more open future. After the parade, there's the dolce vita: late-night piazzas, gelato under the stars, dancing in old squares. It makes this Pride uniquely Roman.
