Provincial commemoration and celebration of Maroon Day
About the event
This meeting is for anyone who wants to know more about the rich history, culture and traditions of the Maroons. Get acquainted with special stories that have been passed down for generations but are still too little known to a wide audience.
With 'Unknown Stories of the Maroons', we bring these stories to attention. Together we explore the heritage, identity and resilience of the Maroon communities and contribute to a greater understanding and broader appreciation of their significance within Surinamese and Dutch society.
