Leeds: Yorkshire's Gay Scene

Leeds' LGBTQ+ scene is small. Lower Briggate is the street, Fibre is the main bar, Viaduct Showbar handles the entertainment. For a city of 793,000 people, though, it doesn't have many dedicated venues. Lots of Leeds' LGBTQ+ residents go to Manchester (an hour by train) when they want a bigger night out.

What Leeds does have is real: a community-focused scene, a long drag tradition, and Leeds Pride in August, which brings over 35,000 people to Millennium Square.

Leeds City Station is a 10-minute walk from Lower Briggate. Direct trains to Manchester Piccadilly (1 hour) mean Canal Street is an easy evening trip. The city is also much cheaper than London or Brighton.
