Bingham Cup
About This Event
The Bingham Cup is the world championship of LGBTQ+ inclusive rugby union, held every two years and named after Mark Bingham, a gay rugby player who died on United Flight 93 on 11 September 2001. Leeds was named host for 2028 at the closing ceremony of the 2026 tournament in Brisbane.
The 2028 edition is planned for 24 to 29 July 2028, hosted by the Leeds Hunters RUFC, the city's inclusive rugby club, founded in 2016. Pool matches are due at West Park Leeds in Bramhope, with the finals at Headingley Stadium, and the organisers expect up to 4,000 players. Ticketing, the social programme and the full schedule had not been published at the time of writing.
