About this place Club Escape

Club Escape is a gay bar on Chicago’s South Side, where everyone seems to know everyone. It’s a good place to find community, whether you’re from the neighborhood or just passing through.

There’s dancing every night, with DJs spinning hip hop, R&B, and house. Thursdays are ladies' night, which draws a specific crowd. The energy here changes with the music, but it’s always lively.

Chicago’s queer scene is spread out, not just concentrated in one area. South Side spots like Escape are important for locals and anyone looking for a real neighborhood feel, away from the usual tourist traps. Think of it as your friendly local, a place where new faces mix easily with the regulars, all there for the music and the company.

For current hours or what’s on, check clubescapechicago.com. You’ll find it at 1530 East 75th Street, easy to get to by public transit. If you want to dance, meet some Chicagoans, or just hang out in a welcoming space, this is it.

This place was fun! As an out of town first time visitor, on a rainy night I had an absolute ball! The bar staff were really friendly as well as the front door bouncer! This place was nothing like the horrible experience I had the night before at "SideTrack" in downtown Chicago. The lil short black man who appeared to be the owner or manager was fine! I should have spoken to him, but he was busy. He needs to find me...ijs...🤣 Overall, the joint was cool, and the Anita Baker impersonator for the drag show was PHENOMENAL! This made my 1st Chicago visit all worth it...I had a blast!
