Katiolo Discotheque

Katiolo has been Mah?'s primary nightclub for decades — a Seychellois institution that has survived the changes in the island's tourism and social landscape to remain the main destination for late-night dancing. Located on the southeast coast near Au Cap, it requires a taxi from Victoria or the Beau Vallon area (10-15 minutes). The music is a mix of Seychellois sega and moutia (the traditional Creole music forms), international pop, and Afro-house. The crowd is genuinely mixed: local Seychellois across age ranges, resort staff, and tourists who have sought out the island's most authentic nightlife experience. Not a gay venue, but the small island social character means regular visitors recognize each other and the atmosphere is generally non-judgmental toward LGBTQ+ tourists. Best visited after midnight on weekends.
