From webtoon to committed manga: come meet the author Lost Memory! She will present Numéro Invalide, a beautiful, touching, and necessary story to address intersexuality, disability, and medical violence without taboo.

Originally from Brussels, Lost Memory is an author and activist committed to the rights of disabled and intersex people. At 16, during repeated hospitalizations and out of boredom, she started drawing. Encouraged by an art therapist, she created "Numéro Invalide." First shared online from 2014 in the form of a comic strip and a webtoon, it will be included in the Akata editions catalog in 2025, for a manga publication planned in 5 volumes.
Numéro Invalide is Lost Memory's autobiographical manga. In this story, without taboo and quite frankly, she denounces the abuses she suffered in the medical system (and beyond): misogyny, denial of patient's voice, lack of consent, non-treatment of pain, psychophobia and ableism, intersex mutilations...
Numéro Invalide is a real splash in the pond, which will push us to look at the failures of our societies. But above all, it will allow many people to understand that they are not alone...
