About the event
Spirit Day is an annual event to support LGBTQ+ youth and bring awareness to the disproportionate amount of bullying LGBTQ+ youth experience. According to Glisten’s 2025 National School Climate Survey, 62% of LGBTQ+ youth experienced harassment or assault based on sexual orientation and 68% experienced harassment or assault based on gender identity and gender expression.
In 2024, The Trevor Project’s research found 49% of LGBTQ+ youth between 13 and 17 were bullied in the past year, and those bullied had higher rates of suicide attempts.
