Primal Play – with Caritia
About the event
What happens when we let go of the rules, get curious about our instincts, and give ourselves permission to play a little differently?
Primal play invites us to explore the wilder, more instinctive, and less scripted parts of ourselves. It might look like growling, crawling, chasing, wrestling, making sounds, taking up space, or discovering an entirely different way of moving and/or interacting. There’s no single way to do primal play, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
Join Caritia for a practical, hands-on workshop where we’ll explore what primal play can mean to us, what sparks our curiosity, and how we can discover our own ways of playing. Through role-play, sound exploration, individual and group exercises, brainstorming, and discussion, we’ll experiment with different ways of expressing ourselves, connecting with others, and finding the fun in the unexpected.
What we’ll explore
What is primal play? — Exploring its possibilities and discovering what it might mean for you
Movement & sound — Experimenting with sounds, gestures, and ways of moving beyond the everyday
Role-play & character — Playing with instinct, imagination, and different ways of being
Play together — Exploring exercises in pairs and small and larger groups
Curiosity & creativity — Brainstorming ideas and discovering what feels exciting, silly, powerful, or simply fun
Reflection & discovery — Sharing experiences and identifying what you’d like to explore further
Come ready to experiment, make some noise, get a little silly, and surprise yourself. You don’t need to know what your primal side looks like before you arrive—that’s part of the fun of finding out.
Let curiosity lead. Your inner creatures can take it from here.
What to bring – comfortable layered clothing, ideally items you don’t mind rolling around in and/or getting dirty. No tools necessary.
