About this place Ixthys

Ixthys, a tiny Korean spot in Berlin's Schöneberg, is run by two Korean widows who cook like they're feeding family. It's the kind of intimate place that makes Berlin's food scene feel real—where the taste matters more than how pretty the plate looks. The menu is short, just a few classic Korean dishes done right. Think noodle bowls, substantial meat dishes, different soups (like the excellent Kalu-Guk-Su), and kimchi, of course. Everything's made with care because the kitchen's small, so don't expect a quick meal; this is slow food. Linen sheets with handwritten Bible verses hang on the walls, giving the room a quiet, personal feel. Ixthys is LGBTQ+ friendly, welcoming everyone who wants real food and a relaxed atmosphere. It's a neighborhood joint, not a big night out, perfect if you're looking for something low-key away from Berlin's more frantic gay areas. Go for the honest flavors, the unhurried pace, and the unmistakable personality of a place truly owned by its cooks.

Before this place was famous for great food and affordable prices. Now for a dish of 13 eur when u pay in cash on the counter, get one napkin and need to take the cutlery and drinks by yourself is very disappointing. Food is still nice but not sure if i would choose again to come

This place used to be really great... now our table was sticky, and our Bim Bim Bap consisted of rice and mostly iceberg lettuce. There was a tiny bit of zucchini and sprouts, but the fact that the "vegetables" mentioned on the menu were 90% iceberg lettuce was disappointing—especially at over €12. I've eaten Korean food many times, and it can be very tasty—but here, rice with iceberg lettuce was very bland.

My favorite Korean restaurant in Berlin, super tasty, super friendly. But unfortunately they became greedy forgetting that was the St.Mathias Church and his pergrins. I don't eat tofu, I am vegetarian, and every time I ask for an extra egg instead of the tofu they say that I have to pay the extra egg. Absurd, they are saving money if I don't eat the tofu why extra charge vegetarian customers that only eat fermented tofu, the normal tofu is bad fou our health. I keep knocking on their door, ask time after time if they still want to extra charge the replaced bad tofu by a egg and they keep saying you have to pay extra the egg. Unfortunately I have to give 2 stars because the food is ok, nothing special but they are in my Kiez other way I know better Korean restaurants in Berlin but they are in other neighborhoods, like Kreuzberg, Prenzlauerberg and others.
