Support Group "trans* and Me

The support group "trans and Me" offers help and support for parents, partners, relatives, and acquaintances of trans, inter, and non-binary people. "trans and Me" sees itself as a supplement to the existing offers for trans people in the Rhein Neckar region. The offer is explicitly aimed at parents, partners, relatives, and acquaintances, thus closing a gap in a range of existing offers that are usually aimed at the affected individuals themselves. Because not only they face a long, hard road after their coming out. The people close to them are usually caught off guard by this big step and it often means a tremendous shock. In the time that follows, not only empathy is required to be the support and help that the outed person wishes for, but also self-reflection and open dealing with one's own worries, fears, and feelings. We therefore want to enable ourselves together in the group through the exchange of information and experiences, on the one hand to optimally support and accompany the person, but on the other hand also to talk in this protected framework about what these profound changes in our immediate environment do to ourselves. Thus, we will help each other overcome obstacles, always being trans*-affirmative and mindful of each other.
