Monthly rapid testing — HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis C (HCV)

Rapid testing – HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis C (HCV) Since May 2014, AIDS-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V. has regularly offered free and anonymous HIV rapid tests at its counseling and business office – and since July 2015, irregularly also at the Ludwigsburg Health Department. At the end of 2020, the testing service was expanded to include a combination rapid test that can test for HIV and syphilis. Since August 2023, a rapid test for Hepatitis C (HCV) has also been possible. Getting tested for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C (HCV) is advisable for all sexually active people, especially if you have sex frequently with different sexual partners. The test provides clarity about your own HIV, Syphilis, and HCV status and thus helps to prevent new infections. In most cases, infections can be ruled out with a test, but the other scenario – early knowledge of an infection – is also important. Not only to protect others, but also for yourself, because the earlier an infection is detected, the faster and better it can be treated. HIV infections are so treatable today that neither the quality of life nor the life expectancy of people with HIV are affected by the infection – untreated, however, the virus damages the immune system and can lead to AIDS over the years.
