Best Gay Bars & Clubs in Milan

At seven on a weekday evening, Via Lecco stops being a side street. The pavement between Via Panfilo Castaldi and Via Tadino fills with Spritz glasses, bowls of crisps and people who came for one drink after work and are still there at eleven. This is Porta Venezia, Milan's rainbow neighbourhood, and its bars are small, cheerful and mostly standing-room-on-the-street. The clubs are elsewhere and scattered: a Friday party in a 1930s warehouse, a long-running Saturday disco out in Sesto San Giovanni, late techno by the railway at Lambrate. Here is the honest picture for 2026: a lively aperitivo strip, a club scene built on weekly parties rather than big gay clubs, and one famous name that has gone.

Legal in one line: sex between men is legal in Italy and same-sex civil unions have existed since 2016, though not full marriage, and there is no national hate-crime law covering sexual orientation. Many gay clubs are run as private associations, so expect to be asked for a membership card at the door.

Porta Venezia: the Via Lecco strip

Take the M1 (red line) to Porta Venezia or Lima and walk two blocks. The bars below sit within a few minutes of each other; on a warm evening it is one long, spread-out party, and hopping between them is the point.

LeccoMilano · Via Lecco 5

The anchor of the street. Milano Segreta calls it a reference point for the scene since 2014, with aperitivo, drinks, music and snacks from 18:00 every night. Nomadic Boys (September 2026) lists lunch on weekdays (12:00–15:00) as well as evenings until 02:00. The pavement outside is part of the bar.

Mono · Via Lecco 6

Across the road, on the corner of Via Panfilo Castaldi: a retro bar with a soundtrack of 1980s pop and rock, according to Nomadic Boys. Milano Segreta notes that it is cramped inside, so most people drink on the street. Nomadic Boys lists it from 17:00, Tuesday to Sunday, until 01:00–02:00.

A small, unpretentious bar with a wide drinks list at fair prices, in Milano Segreta's words. Handy for a first drink before the street fills up.

Eppol Pie · Via Lecco 4

The quieter option, with a garden-style terrace; Nomadic Boys recommends it for a calmer drink and for Sunday brunch, and lists it open daily from breakfast until 02:00.

• Orange Spritz, Via Alessandro Tadino 4: rainbow-coloured variations on the Aperol Spritz and a DJ, Tuesday to Saturday from 18:00 to 02:00 (Nomadic Boys).
• Lola, Via Tadino 6: a small, playful cocktail bar (Milano Segreta).
• Pop, Via Tadino 5: breakfast, lunch and evening drinks, exhibitions and organic, locally sourced food and drink, according to Milano Segreta; Nomadic Boys lists it as a lesbian bar.
• Sui Generis, Via Panfilo Castaldi 31, on the corner of Via Lecco: a family-run cocktail bar, run by four brothers, on Milano Segreta's list of gay-friendly places.
• Memà, Largo Bellintani 2: Sicilian-style cocktails and snacks such as cannoli and cassata, with tables outside in warm weather (Milano Segreta).



Beyond Porta Venezia

NoLoSo · Via Luigi Varanini 5, NoLo

Up in NoLo ("north of Loreto"), near Pasteur on the M1, NoLoSo mixes a cocktail bar, a club, an art gallery and karaoke, says Milano Segreta. Nomadic Boys lists it open every evening from 18:00, until 03:00 on Saturdays.



Patchouli · Via G. B. Cassinis 76

Aperitivo, DJ sets and drag; Milano Segreta lists a Wednesday queer night hosted by the drag queen Vergine Camilla. Check its social pages for the current programme.

Company Club · Via Benadir 14, Cimiano

Founded in 1994, Company is a bear-focused bar and club that ARCO describes as a social association with "particular attention to the bear community". Nomadic Boys mentions karaoke, leather, drag and pup parties. Hours (ARCO): Thursday 21:00–03:00, Friday 21:00–05:00, Saturday 21:00–04:00, Sunday 19:00–02:00. ARCO card required. Near Cimiano metro (M2).

La Boum · Magazzini Generali, Fridays

The long-running Friday pop party, now held at Magazzini Generali, a 1930s warehouse venue (Via Pietrasanta 16, according to Nomadic Boys), about 15 minutes by car from Porta Venezia. Expect pop and commercial music, go-go dancers and a drag show at around 01:00. Nomadic Boys gives entry as around €25 including two drinks in 2026, with the night running until about 04:30. Gaytravel4u says it runs from mid-September to June; dates are on laboummilano.com.



Q Club · Via Padova 21, near Loreto

Two dance floors of house and pop near Piazzale Loreto, open Friday and Saturday until 05:00 according to Nomadic Boys, which lists Rebel Night on Saturdays and entry of about €10 with a drink in 2026. Rebel Night has brought in drag guests such as Silky Nutmeg Ganache.

One Way · Via F. Cavallotti 204, Sesto San Giovanni

Just over the city boundary, near Sesto Rondò on the M1. ARCO says One Way was founded in 1980 by a group of friends who wanted a private place to be themselves, and lists it open on Saturdays from 23:00 to 05:00. Nomadic Boys says it is popular with bears and older men, with entry around €10 including a drink. It is on ARCO's club list, so bring photo ID in case a card is needed.



Contatto · Corso Sempione 76

A gay disco that, in ARCO's words, left its mark on Milan's nightlife in the 1980s and has reopened to its members after many years. ARCO lists it on Saturdays, 23:30–05:00; programme on its Instagram (contatto.club).

Circolo Botulino · Via Plezzo 16, Lambrate

In the same building as the Royal Hammam sauna, Botulino is an ARCO club built around underground techno, house and tech-house, with performances and exhibitions. ARCO lists it on Wednesday (23:00–04:00), Friday (23:59–05:00) and Saturday nights, the Saturday session running until 09:00. Nomadic Boys describes the Saturday-into-Sunday after-party there, at around €15 with an ARCO card or €20 including a new card. Programme on circolobotulino.com.



Love Hub · Viale Piero e Alberto Pirelli 6

New on ARCO's list, Love Hub describes itself as a club about freedom, self-expression and consent, with music at its core. ARCO lists it on Friday nights, 24:00–06:00. Ask at the door what kind of night it is.

Sunday: Il Borgo delle Perse

A Sunday-evening queer party at The Grace Club, with karaoke from 18:00 and dancing from 20:00, according to Milano Segreta. Sources give different addresses (Via Arcangelo Corelli 62 and Via Messina 38), so check its social pages before you go.



The Navigli: Toilet Club

Down by the canals, Toilet Club is a queer-friendly Arci club at Via Lodovico il Moro 171, on the Naviglio Grande, which Zero describes with drag-led weekend nights and a basement where toilets serve as seats. We could not find a confirmed 2026 programme, so check its pages before heading out; Arci clubs ask for an Arci card. The Navigli themselves are not a gay area, but the canal-side bars are a classic aperitivo stop.

Cards at the door: the Porta Venezia bars are ordinary public bars, no card needed. ARCO member clubs, among them Botulino and Company, need an ARCO card: you join at the door with photo ID, and visitors who are not Italian citizens can ask for the 90-day ARCO Travel card. Fees vary by club. Arci clubs use their own Arci card.

Gone: Plastic, the club on Via Gargano that was a home for Milan's queer and underground nights for 45 years, closed for good after its last night on 28 June 2025; some online guides still list it. misterb&b also marks the cruise clubs Flexo and Inferus as closed.

Cruise bars, in brief

Milan has several cruise clubs with a bar: Illumined near Centrale (listed by ARCO as open 24 hours), Hot Dog Club in Cimiano, the leather bar Depot and Bangalov. All need an ARCO card. Aperitivo, the Milanese ritual

From about six, Milan stops for aperitivo: buy a drink and the bar puts out snacks, sometimes a whole buffet, and on Via Lecco that drink often becomes the night. Order a Spritz, a bitter Campari soda, or a Negroni Sbagliato, the "mistaken" Negroni made with prosecco instead of gin, which Bar Basso claims to have invented. If you are heading on to a club, eat properly first: a saffron risotto alla milanese or a cotoletta, the breaded veal chop the Milanese insist is not a schnitzel.

Practical tips

• Metro: trains run from about 05:30–06:00 until about 00:20–00:30 on M1 to M4, and until around midnight on M5. A single urban ticket costs €2.20 and is valid for 90 minutes; tap a contactless bank card or phone at the turnstile.
• Night buses: after the metro closes, ATM's NM1, NM2, NM3 and NM4 follow the metro lines every night, and N25/N26 link Centrale and Cadorna. Extra lines run on Friday and Saturday nights; check the ATM app.
• Taxis: use licensed white taxis, booked by app or at a rank, especially from Sesto San Giovanni or Lambrate at 05:00.
• Timing: Porta Venezia gets going from aperitivo time; La Boum's drag show at around 01:00 gives you an idea of club hours. Many places slow down or close for part of August.
• Safety: the Via Lecco crowd is relaxed, but keep your phone out of sight on crowded pavements and around Centrale late at night. Emergencies: 112.
• Apps: Grindr and Romeo are both used in Milan. Meet in public first.
• Health: Milano Check Point and CIG Arcigay Milano can point you to HIV and STI testing. If you need PEP, go to a hospital emergency department (pronto soccorso) within 72 hours.



Pride

The 25th Milano Pride took place in June 2026 under the theme "Corpi in Rivolta" (bodies in revolt). Pride Week ran from 24 to 26 June, with a free Pride Square on Piazzale Lavater in Porta Venezia hosting talks, music and a queer show, and rapid HIV testing with Milano Check Point on Largo Bellintani. The parade was held on Saturday 27 June: marchers gathered on Via Vittor Pisani, opposite Centrale, and walked about 3 km by way of Piazza della Repubblica and Porta Volta to the Arco della Pace, where the day ended with speeches and a free concert. With temperatures around 38°C, the organisers moved the start to 17:00; they claimed 350,000 people, while local press noted a smaller turnout than in past years. Earlier in the year, during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Arcigay and CIG Arcigay Milano ran a Pride House at the MEET Digital Culture Center on Viale Vittorio Veneto, near Porta Venezia, from 6 to 22 February. The 2027 Milano Pride date had not been announced at the time of writing; Turin has been chosen to host EuroPride in June 2027.
